SELF ACTUALIZATION

What the heck is this? In case you missed it, glance back up to the header above, and you'll see our tag line: A Sat Nav Tool Towards Self Actualization. This terminology was coined by Abraham Maslow, way back in 1943. He produced a theory: .Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. In my humble opinion, he and his theory, are one of the two most` significant factors used to drive and maintain the globalist, tech-driven world we find ourselves in today.

Why Maslow?

Whilst studying Product Development I came across Maslow as a reference point. His theory has been a mainstay of classroom management in schools.He is regarded as one of the most influential psychologists of the 20th Century. His focus was on Happiness. I feel his observations on what is necessary for anyone to feel complete can act as a useful starting point and sounding board.

All Your Motivations

To the right is a diagram of Abraham Maslow's 5 Stages of Human Needs in it's simplest form. As you progress it becomes more complex. Rest assured you will find YOU, along with your quirks and foibles, in there! Remember this is the thinking that drives the whole of the internet! Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch. Amazon, Google, you name it!!!

Deficiency Needs

To this day it acts as a reference point in many sectors, such as psychology, parenting, education, management, business and marketing. The first 4 level of needs, from Physiological up to Esteem are Deficiency Needs. Experiencing a deficit of these needs produces an urge to deal with the shortage. E.g. if you don’t have food or water then seeking them out becomes your driving focus. Once your belly is full you can then be motivated to aim for the next level of desires up the scale.

Growth Needs

When all lower needs have been met there is no longer a deficit. This allows you to want to grow. You are then ready to self-analyse, reflect and grow. Then you can achieve the state of Self -Actualization. At last you can feel sated. Satisfied even. Happy? Who knows? This is a simplified appraisal of Maslow’s theory.

As we progress I will present other psychologists, sociologists, motivational speakers, and psychiatrists, right up to the present.

 They  have spent significant time studying people, their habits, actions, thinking structures and patterns. 

I believe you have to go deep if you want lasting change.

Anthony Robbins is one of the people I will refer to. I have studied and invested in his teachings for over 30 years. On YouTube you can currently view a 3 hour video by him on the subject of weight loss. He does not give you any diet or exercise tips. Instead he discusses what are the reasons that make someone gain weight. What are the emotional needs that are not being met? I WILL give suggestions on weight losss and provide diets and exercise tips here. I will also provide understanding on the thinking and feeling that leads to obesity and bulimia.
